PALAZZO SCOTTI,
Via S. Andrea, 3 - Treviso |
|
The entry to the second floor, that is the most interesting artistically, is allowed by a staircase
developing in two flights with baroque rail by wrought iron made with stone handrail held up by balusters.
When we arrive at the second floor hall we find a statue here, it portrays courtier with the classic
clothes of the Onigo Pages. This hall, decorated richly by some stuccoes of great art value,
lead to the main hall. |

|
The main hall of Palazzo Scotti is typified by two
marble sizeable columns having Ionic order capitals by painted wood, they divide the hall in a main area
and in a short of lobby. |
|
A wooden sizeable frame divides the height of the hall in two
parts thus in the upper part there isn't the space to build the classical gallery present at the coeval houses
(as Ca' Spineda and Palazzo
Giacomelli), it is replaced by an ornament attic, on which a stuccoed procession
is portrayed while it is filing. These stuccoes are near others not less important, they are located in the lobby
and on the hall wall where they frame some canvases portraying classical or mythological subjects as
"la continenza di Scipione"( Scipio's temperance) and some biblical scenes as "il ritorno del figliol
prodigo" (the prodigal son's return). |
